Lost (serie TV), di Michael Giacchino

Lost è la serie tv più rivoluzionaria degli ultimi anni, paragonata per impatto e successo al Twin Peaks di David Lynch. Per quanto riguarda il telefilm, ne discutiamo in quest'altra discussione. Qui invece parliamo di una caratteristica fondamentale del telefilm, che senza dubbio ha contribuito al suo successo e all'affezione del pubblico, ovvero la colonna sonora. Le musiche suggestive, inquietanti, emozionanti, sono di Michael Giacchino, compositore che ha portato una ventata di qualità prima nel mondo dei videogiochi e poi, seguendo il suo amico regista e produttore J.J. Abrams, le serie TV (Alias) e il cinema (Mission: Impossible III, Cloverfield, Star Trek, per citare solo i film di J.J. Abrams).

Lost è iniziato il 22 settembre del 2004 sulla ABC, il network americano di proprietà della Disney, ed è andato avanti per cinque stagioni (l'ultima delle quali in onda attualmente) e si concluderà con la sesta stagione l'anno prossimo (2010). Giacchino ha creato dei temi importanti, che si è poi portato dietro per tutte le stagioni della serie, contribuendo a caratterizzare i personaggi e le atmosfere tipiche del telefilm, tanto che i suoi interventi vengono addirittura previsti nelle sceneggiature degli episodi, trattati come se la sua musica fosse essa stessa un personaggio in scena. Credo che in nessuna serie televisiva la musica abbia contato tanto quanto in Lost, e il merito è di questo straordinario genio che è Michael Giacchino, compositore e orchestratore che ha lasciato senza fiato il mondo di Hollywood e di cui ora Hollywood non può più fare a meno.

Per le musiche di Lost Giacchino ha vinto un Emmy Award nel 2005, per la prima stagione, ed è stato nominato l'anno scorso (2008) per le musiche dell'episodio "La costante" della quarta stagione.

A coronare questo successo nel successo ogni stagione del telefilm ha avuto l'onore di avere un proprio album con musiche inedite o comunque riarrangiamenti inediti dei temi principali, e che ogni fan di Lost non fa fatica a ricollegare agli episodi in cui l'ha sentita (nonostante gli episodi siano arrivati a 100, e continueranno ancora per un'altra ventina, e nonostante i personaggi e le tematiche siano davvero tante e varie, e ognuno ha la sua musica... certo gli ironici titoli scelti per ogni brano da Giacchino aiutano a riconoscerli ). Finora sono stati pubblicati tre album, e il quarto è in uscita fra poche settimane.

Ed è uscito l'11 ottobre l'ultimo album di Lost, un doppio CD in edizione limitata 5000 copie, contenente le musiche degli ultimi 4 episodi di Lost.

In particolare il secondo disco contiene 1 ora e 18 minuti di musica tutti tratti dall'episodio finale, "The End", che durava 1 ora e 45 minuti.

Durata totale: 2 ore e 22 minuti

La collezione della colonna sonora di Lost consta ora di 7 album, ovvero 10 CD. Degno tributo a una delle principali caratteristiche che ha reso Lost leggendario, la colonna sonora di Michael Giacchino.
